Summer Roller Skating at the Saranac Lake Civic Center

The Saranac Lake Civic Center is excited to announce the return of its summer roller skating program for a second season beginning June 1, 2026.

Roller skating sessions will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on most Monday evenings beginning June 1. Sessions will feature themed nights, live DJ music, and lighting designed to create an exciting atmosphere for skaters of all ages. Admission is $5 per person and includes skate rentals.

The nonprofit Civic Center introduced roller skating last summer as a new community activity and saw strong participation from locals and visitors alike.

“This is such a fun and affordable activity for families and kids in our community,” said Stephanie Colby, Broker/Owner of Acre ADK and a member of the Civic Center Board of Directors. “We’re proud to support three roller skating sessions this summer and help continue bringing new experiences to the Civic Center.”

Acre ADK will sponsor several themed skating nights throughout the summer. Additional support for the roller skating program comes from the Saranac Lake Rotary Club and Specialty Wood Products. The program also received grant funding through the Village of Saranac Lake Cannabis Tax Fund.

The initial line-up of themed roller skating nights includes:


June 1: Summer Kickoff: Decades Skate Party: from the 60s to Y2K — start summer rolling through every era.


June 8: 70s Roller Disco - disco beats and dancing feet on wheels.


June 15: Mamma Mia - you can skate, you can jive, having the time of your life with ABBA hits and disco lights.


June 22: The Wedding Singer - come dressed as the bride, the groom, or your favorite wedding guest ( music, costumes, and roller skating inspired by the hit movie).


June 29: Red, White & Blue - stars, stripes, and skating under the lights.


July 16: 80s Aqua Net and MTV - big hair, bigger hits, and nonstop skating to 80s hits.


July 13: Taylor Swift: Swifties skating in honor of her nuptials and her favorite number.


…additional themed nights will be announced throughout the summer on the Civic Center’s social media channels..

“The response to our roller skating program last summer was incredibly positive, and we’re excited to bring it back with new themed nights and community partnerships,” said Marnie Cochran Crane of the Saranac Lake Civic Center. “We’re grateful to our sponsors and supporters for helping us continue offering affordable, family-friendly recreation throughout the summer.”
