The 44th Annual Olympic Car Show (cars, trucks, motorcycles) to support the Lake Placid Ski Club children’s ski education programs will return on Sunday September 6th to the Olympic Speed Skating Oval in Lake Placid, NY . The public viewing and enjoyment on the Speed Skating Oval will be from 11am to 4pm, Judging will begin at noon. The cars, trucks and motorcycles will remain on display for spectators viewing until the awards ceremony at 4:00pm. Car show plaques will be given to twenty-five favorite vehicles selected by the Lake Placid Ski Club. Three cash awards will be given to the 3 best of show vehicles as selected by the spectators as well as 9 best of show trophies as selected by the Ski Club (3), spectators (3) and the participants (3). This gives everyone a chance to vote for their favorites and all participants have a higher probability of winning one or more awards.

This show is great fun for locals and tourist alike, with over 100 cars and trucks and motorcycles expected. There will be plenty of activities such as muffler raps, and a MC to entertain the whole family! We are excited to announce that the band “Frankie and The Moonlighters” will again be performing during the show as a partial donation to help raise money for the Ski Club. A Hamburg & Hot Dog BBQ will be provided by the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department as a fundraiser for their safety equipment purchases.

This year’s show will feature an ultra-rare car built and sold during the manufacturer’s muscle car battles to outperform each other in the 1960’s.. The 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 is 1 of 729 produced and 1 of only 10 known surviving special orders from the famous Performance Division of Grand Spaulding Dodge, “Mr. Norm” Kraus, 333 W. Grand Avenue, Chicago Illinois. Also, 1 of 10 known with Ray Barton’s Racing Engines with specifications of 500 cubic inches inch big block, stroked 440 RB code big block, 751 horsepower and 725 ft. lbs. of torque. Featured in Motor Trend 12/11/19, Mopar Muscle 01/20/20 and Hot Rod 7/20 magazines. The car is owned by David Blaise of Mineville, NY.

Support this community event and the Ski Club’s children’s ski education programs on Sunday September 6th ! Spectators admission is $5.00 per adult and $3.00 for children under 12.

Please note, dogs, skate boards and bicycles will not be allowed anywhere on the Speed Oval Campus in order to protect the beautiful paint jobs on the show vehicles.
